FAQS

Here are answers to some common questions.

  • How do we join Chattahoochee Gold?

Joining Gold is simple! If your swimmer can complete a 25-yard lap of both freestyle and backstroke without stopping, they’re eligible to join. Sign up for an evaluation today by clicking here.

  • Do we have to attend all meets?

No, meets are optional. While we strongly encourage participation as they are a fun way to showcase your swimmer's progress, attendance is not mandatory.

  • How do we sign up for meets?

Meet sign-ups are managed through Captyn. You'll receive an email with a link to sign up for upcoming meets. A reminder email will be sent before the sign-up deadline.

  • What are the costs associated with meets?

Swim meet fees are set by the meet host.  Sometimes they can be a flat fee for all events, or more often there is a per event charge.  These fees will be outlined in the meet sign-up when you are declaring your swimmer.

  • Is attendance at practices mandatory?

Some groups do have an attendance policy. If you have a conflict with a practice please communicate with your coach.

  • Can swimmers participate in Summer League?

Swimmers can 100% participate in Summer League.  Younger swimmers are encouraged to do this and as your swimmer gets older we encourage them to have a conversation with their coach as to what is the most appropriate level of competition for them.

  • What are the parental obligations?

We require parents to provide positive support for their swimmer. There are no mandatory fundraising or volunteer duties. Your involvement and encouragement are the most valuable contributions.

  • How do we pay for fees?

All fees related to Chattahoochee Gold are billed through the Captyn website.

  • What equipment is needed?

For practice, swimmers should have a well-fitting swimsuit, goggles, and a towel. Additional equipment may be required as swimmers progress through different levels. Click here for our updated equipment list.
