Here are answers to some common questions.

How do we join Chattahoochee Gold?
Joining Gold is simple! With the understanding that 1 lap is 25 yards, if your swimmer (depending on their age) can complete the following:
- 10 years and under- I lap of freestyle and 1 lap of backstroke
- 11-12 years- 1 lap of freestyle and backstroke and 1 lap of either breaststroke or butterfly
- 13 and up- 1 lap of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.

Do we have to attend all meets?
No, meets are optional. While we strongly encourage participation as they are a fun way to showcase your swimmer's progress, attendance is not mandatory.

How do we sign up for meets?
As meets become available for sign up they will be shown at the top of your captyn account page

What are the costs associated with meets?
Swim meet fees are set by the meet host. Sometimes they can be a flat fee for all events, or more often there is a per event charge. These fees will be outlined in the meet sign-up when you are declaring your swimmer.

Is attendance at practices mandatory?
Some groups do have an attendance policy. If you have a conflict with a practice please communicate with your coach.

Can swimmers participate in Summer League?
Swimmers can 100% participate in Summer League. Younger swimmers are encouraged to do this and as your swimmer gets older we encourage them to have a conversation with their coach as to what is the most appropriate level of competition for them.

What are the parental obligations?
We require parents to provide positive support for their swimmer. There are no mandatory fundraising or volunteer duties. Your involvement and encouragement are the most valuable contributions.

How do we pay for fees?
All fees related to Chattahoochee Gold are billed through the Captyn website.
To be a member of Chattahooche Gold Swim Team, you will be required to have an account with an updated credit card on file.

What equipment is needed?
For practice, swimmers should have a well-fitting swimsuit, goggles, and a towel. Additional equipment may be required as swimmers progress through different levels. Click here for our updated equipment list.
